Evidence Based Library and Information Practice (EBLIP), a peer reviewed
open access journal published since 2006, seeks to fill the position of
Communications Officer. The successful candidate will be expected to begin
their role by November 2022 and serve a three-year term (with possibility
of renewal).
The Communications Officer will be responsible for:
• Developing and implementing a communications plan for the journal.
• Developing, designing, writing, and editing material to promote the
journal in collaboration with the Editor-in-Chief. This can include email
messages to mail lists, postings on social media, and announcements in the
EBLIP journal.
• Communicating and consulting with the Editor-in-Chief on a regular basis.
• Attending Editorial Board meetings via Zoom on a quarterly basis.
The ideal candidate for Communications Officer will have skills and
knowledge in areas of communications, preferably in the scholarly/academic
realm. Excellent written communication skills in English are required.
Experience with social media, developing and executing communication plans,
and an interest in evidence based librarianship and open access are
considered assets. This position requires dedicated time on a regular
basis, and it is therefore essential that interested persons ensure
available time to devote to this position prior to applying. It is
estimated that the workload is approximately 5-10 hours per month.
