thanks everyone for the great input !
Just to briefly explain the history here. I have had the same hardware now
for 4years now mostly always running with Win XP SP2 and it always performed
well. Then 2 years ago i went dual boot and tried various Linux Distros and
settled on PCLinuxOS and during the time of running PCLOS TR2 i never had
these issues.
I know the video driver is different then the last time. Ok here is more
info as per requested.
CPU : Amd Athlon XP 1.1 ghz
RAM 2gig 400mhz DDR
VIDEO CARD : 02:00.0 VGA compatible controller: nVidia Corporation NV34
[GeForce FX 5200] (rev a1)
VIDEO DRIVER : NVIDIA proprietary X.org graphics driver 100.14.23

I highly doubt its a harddisk issue?, its the sames disks as in the past.
* Jeremy
I tried enabling Compiz-fusion and there is some improvement with the window
movement. When i move an application window around (shake right to left)
there is no more trail.
* Pascal
You bring up some good points, but your blowing me away with this stuff!,
help me out as i dont know how to do all that.
