Authcache is not used (yet) in any Octopus setup.

Also, you said the cache module was not enabled
before, so Memcache/Redis also were not used.

I don't know your setup, but if you are using
Authcache with APC as a cache engine, then
you need to restart php-fpm to flush this cache:

$ service php-fpm restart
