Alan and Nick , what was the total cost in the end ? The owner mentioned a minimum charge of $21 (3 people @ 7$each). I dont remember what he said the cost would be if we are a larger group say 10 people, would it still be $21 ? Since not everyone has computers with them.

I'm glad to hear the meeting went well and sad to hear that Denny had
 that emergency. I hope everything turned out well.
  
 I have both an OLPC XO and an eeePC that I will bring with me to the
 next meeting.
 
 Regarding speakers: I recently (Friday) gave a talk about a free,
 open-source mathematics software package called Sage. It's pretty
  interesting stuff, and it's based on Python. I'd be willing to give
 this talk at an mlug meeting if people are interested. (See
 www.sagemath.org for more information about Sage.)
