[MLUG] OT: Montreal datacenters

Most datacenters use facilities not designed in the first place to be one.
Canix's new datacenter on Rene-Levesque is a good example of that. Often,
even if they have redundant electricity/telecom feeds from Hydro and their
carriers, they all come in the same spot in their building. What if a truck
backs up or crashes there? The entire DC goes down. We all have seen that
happen in the past.

Due to the fact we're in the finance industry, our SLAs are 100%. That's
mainly due to the time-sensitivity of our activies: like trading. Because of
that, we need a facility that has seperate physical entries for all that.
They need 2 electricity bus, etc.

So far, as I said before, the only one we found in Canada that meet all
those is located in Toronto.

We're going to go visit Canix and iWeb on Nuns' Island.

Again, for most companies, the regular datacenters will suffice. That's not
our case.

As a side note, if you look at how the NYSE and the Dow Jones build their
facilities for example, they all have the same requirements.
