! Mhh....

Sur Wikipedia on peut lire:
"*RealPlayer* is a media player <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Media_player>,
created by RealNetworks <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RealNetworks>, that
plays a number of multimedia formats including
MP3<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MP3>,
MPEG-4 <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MPEG-4>,
QuickTime<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/QuickTime>,
as well as multiple versions of proprietary
RealAudio<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RealAudio>and
RealVideo <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RealVideo>
codecs<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Codec>
."

"*Helix* is an open multi-format digital media framework. The code is
released in binary and source code form (except for the extensions listed
below) under various licenses, notably the commercial RealNetworks Community
Source License<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RealNetworks_Community_Source_License>and
the open source RealNetworks
Public Source License<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RealNetworks_Public_Source_License>.
Additionally, the Helix DNA Client and the Helix Player are licensed under
the popular GNU General Public License
(GPL)<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GNU_General_Public_License>open
source license.
RealNetworks <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RealNetworks> contributed the
original source code to the Helix
Community<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Helix_Community>to help the
industry standardize on a multi-format, multi-operating system,
multi-processor digital media platform."

Ouf! Overdose d'information...

"Not all of the source code is licensed under the GPL license, in particular
the codecs."

"*Helix Player* is the open source media
player<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Media_player>built on top of Helix
DNA Client for
Linux <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Linux> and other operating
systems<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operating_system>.
The Helix Player serves as the foundation for the
RealPlayer<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RealPlayer>versions 10 and
newer for
Linux <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Linux>. The
Windows<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Microsoft_Windows>and
Macintosh <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apple_Macintosh> players as well as
embedded versions of the
RealPlayer<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RealPlayer>for mobile phones
are also based on Helix. The Helix Player includes support
for the following media formats:

   - Audio formats: Ogg Vorbis <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ogg_Vorbis>,
   .au <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Au_file_format>
   - Video formats: Ogg Theora <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ogg_Theora>,
   AVI <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AVI>
   - Description formats:
SMIL<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Synchronized_Multimedia_Integration_Language>,
   SDP <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Session_Description_Protocol>
   - Image formats: JPEG <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/JPEG>,
GIF<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GIF>,
   PNG <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PNG>
   - Protocols: RTSP <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RTSP>,
RTP<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Real-time_Transport_Protocol>,
   HTTP <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HTTP>,
Multicast<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Multicast>,
   RDT <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RDT_stream_transport>

It should be noted that use of the
RDT<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RDT_stream_transport>,
the default proprietary Real data transport, and the
RealVideo<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RealVideo>and
RealAudio <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RealAudio> codecs requires binary
components distributed under the Helix DNA Technology Binary Research Use
License."
