[Facil] Présentation mensuelle FACIL au CRIM : Internet Bodies (en anglais)

Bonjour,

Ce mois-ci, FACIL est très fière d'accueillir le professeur Alex 
Simonelis du département des sciences informatique au Collège Dawson. Il 
viendra jeter un peu de lumière sur les différentes organisations qui 
veillent sur Internet. W3C, IANA, ICANN, RFC Editor, IAB, IRSG, IRTF, 
IESG, IETF, ISOC, etc. Combien pouvez-vous en déchiffrer ?

La présentation de M. Simonelis reprendra en un peu plus d'une heure une 
conférence qu'il a donné en juin 2005 à Amsterdam intitulée « The 
Internet Bodies that Are Most Important to Media Freedom and Internet 
Regulation » ainsi qu'un texte publié en février 2005 dans Ubiquity 
(ACM) : « A Concise Guide to the Major Internet Bodies ». Cette 
présentation se fera en anglais mais des interprètes sur place 
permettront aux francophones de comprendre et de poser des questions.

Deuxièmement, l'équipe de FACIL sera sur place pour faire le point sur 
la SQIL, le Pavillon FACIL au Palais des congrès (Linux Expo), le 
Bulletin FACIL et l'association en général. Cette partie se déroulera en 
français et en anglais.

Notez qu'exceptionnellement ce mois-ci, la présentation aura lieu 
mercredi soir au lieu de jeudi comme c'est habituellement le cas.

Les présentations se tiendront le mercredi 19 octobre 2005, de 18h00 à 
20h00. Ce sera au CRIM, 550 Sherbrooke Ouest, Bureau 100, près du métro 
McGill.

Pour terminer la soirée en beauté, vous êtes tous conviés à la rencontre 
mensuelle des membres et amis de FACIL qui se déroule à partir de 20h au 
café l'Étranger au 680 Sainte-Catherine ouest, à 500 m du CRIM. Venez

This month, FACIL is very proud to welcome professor Alex Simonelis from 
the Computer Science Department at Dawson College. He will explain the 
relationship between the various bodies regulating Internet. W3C, IANA, 
ICANN, RFC Editor, IAB, IRSG, IRTF, IESG, IETF, ISOC, etc. How many can 
you decipher?

Mr. Simonelis speech will borrow from a conference he gave in June 2005 
in Amsterdam entitled « The Internet Bodies that Are Most Important to 
Media Freedom and Internet Regulation » and a paper he published in

will be given in english.

For the second part, the FACIL team will be on site to answer all your 
questions about the SQIL, the FACIL Village at Palais des Congrès (Linux 
Expo), the FACIL Bulletin and the association in genenral. This segment 
will happen in french and english, as necessary.

Please note that exceptionally this month, the presentation will take 
place Wednesday night instead of Thursday as is usually the case.
