Le jeudi 21 juillet 2005, FACIL (facil.qc.ca) organise une table ronde 
de logiciels libres. Si vous êtes un développeur, vous pourrez partager 
votre expérience en tant que contributeur ou administrateur d'un projet 
libre. Si vous êtes un enthousiaste, vous pourrez poser toutes sortes de 
questions pour contribuer à un projet existant ou même administrer un 
nouveau projet.

Voici un aperçu des thèmes qui seront couverts:

- Comment vous avez commencé, un projet existant ou un nouveau projet?

- Selon votre expérience, quelle est la dynamique d'un nouveau projet? 
Est-ce que cette dynamique change au cours de la vie du projet?

- Pour des projets existants, quels ont été vos problèmes à vous joindre 
aux projets? Des difficultés particulières ou non?

- Que faire quand du code developpé n'est pas accepté par les 
administrateurs du projet? Ça arrive plus souvent qu'on ne le pense, et 
pas parce que c'est la qualité du code qui soit en question, y'a de la 
politique!

- Quels sont les défis pour un projet existant avec plusieurs 
développeurs actifs? Comment gérer des développeurs bénévoles, parfois 
trop, parfois pas assez?

- Autres idées, expériences en tant que contributeur ou administrateur 
de projet?

La table ronde se tiendra le jeudi 21 juillet 2005, de  18h30 à 22h00. 
Ce sera au CRIM, 550 Sherbrooke Ouest, Bureau 100, près du métro McGill.

On Thursday July 21st 2005, FACIL (facil.qc.ca) is organizing a free 
software roundtable. If you are a developer, you will have the 
opportunity to share your experience as a contributor or maintainer of a 
free project. If you are an enthousiast, you will have the opportunity 
to ask all sorts of questions to contribute to an existing project or 
even maintain a new project.

Here is an overview of the topics which will be covered:

- How did you start, an existing project or a new project?

- According to your experience, what is the dynamic of a new project? 
Does this dynamic change during the lifetime of the project?

- For existing projects, what have been your problems to join projects? 
Any difficulties in particular or not?

- What to do when the developed code is not accepted by the maintainers 
of the project? This happens more often than we'd like to think, and not 
that the quality of the code in question, there are politics!

- What are the challenges of an existing project with multiple active 
developers? How to manage voluntary developers, sometimes too many, 
sometimes not enough?

- Other ideas, experiences as a project contributor or maintainer?

The roundtable will be be held on Thursday July 21st 2005, between 18h30 
and 22h00. It will be at the CRIM, 550 Sherbrooke Ouest, Suite 100, near
