[develop] Hosting Variables

I thought they did somewhere but I can't find it...

I just pushed the fix to variable_names to cleanup, if anyone can test
before the final merge. I would've just pushed it to 1.x but there's a
lot of lines changed so I'd rather be safe than sorry.
