Library Technician
Full-time Permanent Position Available

The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) Library, Regina location, invites applications for a full-time permanent Library Technician position from individuals who are looking to work in an exciting and progressive organization. The successful applicant will join an award-winning, dynamic team providing library services across the provincial Saskatchewan Health Authority.

The SHA Library provides access to approximately 300 electronic textbooks, 20,000 plus full-text journals and a core suite of electronic databases. The majority of services are provided virtually through the SHA Library's website. Additional services are provided at staffed physical locations in Regina at the Regina General Hospital, Pasqua Hospital and the Wascana Rehabilitation Centre.

Responsibilities
Reporting to the Manager of Knowledge Management & Library Services, the Library Technician will work as part of a team delivering information services to a variety of health care professionals and a broad range of students and physicians. The Library Technician will work within Alma/Primo, the cloud-based library system and will be involved in the implementation of Insignia, the Library's new library system. Extensive database work using DB/Textworks is involved. Duties may include processing interlibrary loans, document delivery, distribution of current awareness services, basic client support services, daily library system/resource/mobile and equipment troubleshooting, and related record-keeping and documentation.

Qualifications:
Education:

  *   Library and Information Technology Diploma

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  *   Advanced computer skills, including proficiency with LibGuides, integrated library systems and Microsoft office products
  *   Detail-oriented, meticulous
  *   Superior interpersonal, organizational and communication skills
  *   Ability to prioritize work, adapt to changing workloads with excellent organizational skills
  *   Ability to work independently
