[CANMEDLIB] CMA Infobase and other guideline-focussed databases

Hello fellow medical librarians,

Thank you all for your continued interest in the CPG Infobase<https://joulecma.ca/cpg/homepage>.

As part of changes announced<https://www.cma.ca/news/focusing-impact-upcoming-changes-cma-programs-and-services>  on March 1, 2023, in an effort to focus resources on advocating at the national level for urgent health reform, the Canadian Medical Association (CMA) will sunset the CPG Infobase<https://joulecma.ca/cpg/homepage> among the other clinical tools and services<https://joulecma.ca/important-updates-about-clinical-tools-and-services> by December 1, 2023. As a result, the CPG Infobase will no longer be available on the joulecma.ca website in December.

At this time, we are still exploring various options for the CPG Infobase after access ends in December. If your organization is interested in taking on this national repository of Canadian clinical practice guidelines (CPG), please email me off-list.

We are still working on a more comprehensive list of sources for CPGs after the sunset of the CPG Infobase. Below please find a short list for your reference.

Hi all,

I'm writing regarding the changes to the clinical tools and services provided by CMA, specifically CPG Infobase.

Can anyone clarify for me whether CPG Infobase is disappearing at the end of the year, or shifting to a different subscription, or being archived but not maintained? I am quite confused about what's happening there.

Does anyone have recommendations for how to fill the gap when we lose Infobase? What other guideline-focussed databases do people gravitate to? The main ones I've known about are TRIP database and NICE Guidance.
