The W. K. Kellogg Health Sciences Library (Dalhousie University) is seeking an enthusiastic and focused individual to work full-time for 22 weeks in a range of identified library areas. These areas of focus will include reference and research services for health sciences students and faculty. Reference queries at all levels come to the library as well as research consultations with intermediate and advanced clients who require information services and literature searching. The position will also include reviewing and engaging with a range of online instructional tools requiring both creative and technical abilities. The candidate will also be required to take on a project that will include the review and planning of a consumer health education project for library workers in academic, hospital, and public library settings.


The W. K. Kellogg Health Sciences Library serves the information and research needs of three faculties of Dalhousie University (Medicine, Dentistry and Health). The successful candidate will report to the Head of the Kellogg Health Sciences Library.

Qualifications:

* A recently completed Masters level Library or Information Studies program from an ALA accredited school

* Health Sciences background/experience/coursework strongly preferred
* Strong written and oral communication skills
* Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
* Instructional design experience or course work
* Excellent technical skills as applied to online learning

Salary: $22/hour
