Clinical Librarian Working Supervisor

Summary:

Under the direction of the Manager of Knowledge Management & Library Services, leads the day-to day operations of Saskatoon library branches and assigned portfolios/programs. Assists the Manager with policy development, strategic planning, finances and budgeting, collection development, quality improvement, and other tasks as needed. Provides leadership and coaching to small teams of library staff.



Previous Experience: Twenty-four (24) months previous experience in an automated library environment



Qualifications:

  *   Master of Library and Information Science from an ALA-accredited program
  *   Registration with the Canadian Health Libraries Association
  *   Registration with the Saskatchewan Health Libraries Association


Requirements:

·         Experience overseeing branch/location operations, including working with IT, Maintenance, and Housekeeping departments

·         Experience with collection development in a health sciences library

·         Experience overseeing assigned budget areas, processing expenditures, and adhering to financial policies and procedures

·         Experience in developing and administering library policies and procedures

  *   Experience providing strategic advice and recommendations to management
  *   Experience delivering goals that support the strategic directions of the Library
  *   Experiencing in leading and coaching small teams

·         Demonstrated project management skills

  *   Ability to create and maintain a positive work environment
  *   Ability to multitask and effectively manage changing work volumes and competing projects and competing deadlines
  *   Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
  *   Excellent customer service skills, including superior tact and diplomacy
  *   Superior interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills
  *   Accuracy and attention to detail
  *   Ability to work independently in a self-directed environment and collaboratively as a contributing member of a dynamic team
  *   Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and improvement of professional knowledge and skills
  *   Experience with consumer health collections and services an asset
  *   Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs
  *   Valid Driver's license
  *   Travel within the Health Authority required

Facility: Multi-Site Position - Home Position based out of Saskatoon City Hospital



Salary: $36.160 to $38.720 per hour depending on previous experience (3 step range)



Hours: 7:30am-4pm Monday to Friday, 8 hours per day (exclusive of a ½ hour meal period), with every 3rd Friday off.



Benefits: This is an SEIU West position. This position has 15 vacation days per year earned at the rate of 1 ¼ days per month worked.
