To support us on our journey, Hennick Bridgepoint Hospital is looking for a Library Technician to support our Clinical Library department.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Library Technician is responsible for contributing to the provision of research services and information support to Sinai Health staff, learners, clinicians, nurses, and allied health professionals. The incumbent will provide support services including document delivery/inter-library loans, reference, instruction, and basic administration.

  *   Provides information research and reference service at the point of need
  *   Provides timely document delivery and interlibrary loan services
  *   Provides introductory orientations and on-going training to staff, Learners and allied-health professionals
  *   Supports library intranet website maintenance
  *   Maintains physical and electronic Library collections, contributes to collection development by liaising with staff and allied health professional leads
  *   Supports operations of physical Library space including ordering and maintaining supplies, computer, printing and copying functions and enforcing COVID-19 compliance.
  *   Assists with the training of library practicum students and volunteers
  *   Monitors the library inbox and responds to queries in a timely manner
  *   Participates on committees, working groups and cross-departmental initiatives
  *   Supports statistical analysis of Library usage and e-resources,
  *   contributes to Library outreach, marketing, meetings and reports
  *   Provides administrative and physical space support including liaising with Building Services, Information Technology, and other departments
  *   Provides ready-reference support in the Patient & Family Resource Centre on an as-needed basis
  *   Commitment to continuous learning and professional development and maintenance of strong technical skills
Job Requirements:

  *   Library Technician Diploma or Equivalent required
  *   Minimum 2 years of experience in a health sciences library preferred
  *   Minimum 2 years of experience in providing document delivery preferred
  *   Knowledge of medical literature databases and medical terminology
  *   Knowledge of consumer health information
  *   Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
  *   Knowledge of library circulation and cataloguing systems (ALMA preferred)
  *   Knowledge of Citation Management Software preferred
  *   Demonstrated excellence in written and verbal communication skills
  *   Organizational planning skills in prioritizing workloads
  *   Flexibility in carrying out other duties or special projects as assigned
  *   Ability to value and model outstanding customer service skills
  *   Ability to work collaboratively with library staff by sharing knowledge
  *   Proactive, diplomatic and confident with ability to develop, foster and maintain relationships
  *   Demonstrate ability to work independently or as part of a team
  *   Demonstrated satisfactory performance and attendance history
